Winding along the western slope of the Sierra Nevada, the forest offers breathtaking mountain scenery and an array of recreational activities, such as challenging white water rafting, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, fishing and camping, as well as hiking through forest's diverse wilderness areas.
